Part Time and Reserve Police Officers

The Iowa State Fair Police Department is accepting applications for Part Time and Reserve Police Officers to work during the 2019 Iowa State Fair.  The applicant must be willing to work a minimum of 8, twelve hour days during the state fair employment period which, for public safety, runs August 4–19, 2019. Applicant must be an ILEA certified peace officer or reserve peace officer. Applicants will also be required to take an MMPI test (if you have not taken one in the past year), be fingerprinted and a background check will be conducted. This is mandatory per Iowa Administrative Code. Additionally, there may be other opportunities throughout the year for part time work for major events on the grounds; however, this is not guaranteed. Part time dispatcher

Accepting applications for part time dispatcher for the Iowa State Fair Police Dept to work during the 2019 Iowa State Fair.   Applicant must be available to work a minimum of 8, twelve hour days during the Iowa State Fair employment period, which is August 4–Aug 19, 2019.  Applicant must be NCIC certified, able to pass background check and will be fingerprinted.  Additionally there may be opportunities throughout the year for part time work during major events on the grounds; however, this is not guaranteed.   Applications are available on the state fair website at iowastatefair.org

The Iowa State Fair Authority is seeking several qualified candidates to fill Concessions, Exhibits & Thrill Parks Internships for 2019.  Interns will work with the department in managing exhibits, concessions and midway operations during the Iowa State Fair.
